Our building is an elegant county residence with spacious accommodation, ideal for group accommodation.

Elegant and spacious accommodation combined with modern facilities and reasonable prices make Sussex Heritage Centre the ideal choice for conferences and retreats in the Sussex coastal area.

Situated in beautiful surroundings a mile from Arundel along the river valley, the Centre has on site parking for 20 cars with additional nearby roadside parking. The whole ground floor and veranda is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

Set in an acre of gardens, it has been a country house since the 1800s. Having been fully refurbished to create a impressive holiday and conference centre, it now provides:

      • 11 ensuite bedrooms, including two ground floor rooms suitable for people with limited mobility and three family rooms, sleeping up to 35
      • Large reception hall with beautiful views of the Sussex countryside
      • Comfortable drawing room with bar and french windows opening onto the veranda and gardens
      • Quiet room opening onto the veranda
      • Bright and airy oak panelled dining room.

Where we are

The house is in a peaceful and tranquil location set at the end of a quiet lane, yet is only a mile from the A27 and Arundel Railway Station. Gatwick Airport is a 45 minute journey by car or direct train to Arundel. Ideal for large group get-togethers of any kind, from family gatherings, to choir retreats, to business team building and more. Well placed for Goodwood (20 minutes drive).

Guests with disabilities

We will do our utmost to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. All our ground floor rooms are wheelchair accessible. The two ground floor bedrooms have wheelchair accessible showers.

The Centre welcomes businesses, charities, local authorities, public bodies and other organisations. Ideal for away-days, meetings, corporate events, residential weekends or mid-week conferences.

The three meeting rooms can accommodate smaller to larger groups. Please note that we cannot allow groups that are over size limits for health and safety reasons, so confirm your intended group size with Maria before booking.

Room layouts can be altered to your requirements: theatre, boardroom, classroom or U-shaped style. We can provide audiovisual equipment.

  • Reception Hall  8 x 8 metres

Impressive main entrance to the building. Can be used for presentations or as a break-out space if the whole ground floor is hired.         

  • Meeting Room  7.5 x 6 metres

Furnished with comfortable leather and upholstered sofas and chairs, this elegant room can accommodate 20+ people. The wall mounted television can be used for presentations from a lap top.

  • Quiet Room 6 x 6 metres

A peaceful space which can be used for infomal meetings and is ideal as a break out room. It can also be set up with tables and chairs boardroom style for up to 16 people.

  • Main hall  12 x 6 metres

Bright and airy, this large oak panelled room can accommodate workshop or theatre style meetings.

There is a large garden and a Victorian covered veranda that provides extra space for socialising or dining. There are 11 comfortably furnished en suite bedrooms.
